Technical Manager – Max Energy


The Technical Manager is the senior escalation point for complex technical queries from customers, ensuring issues are resolved quickly while improving processes, standards and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle escalated technical queries from the first-line support team and provide timely resolutions.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with Max Energy products, systems and installations.

  • Coach and support the support team to reduce future escalations and build technical capability.

  • Maintain and improve technical standards, processes and internal documentation.

  • Work with Operations, Projects and Installation teams to resolve field issues and tackle root causes.

  • Feed recurring issues back to Product/Engineering or external partners to drive improvements.

  • Support pre‑sales and post‑sales with technical input when required.

  • Monitor key technical KPIs and lead continuous improvement activity.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and health & safety.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong background in a technical role within energy/renewables/engineering.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience handling escalated issues.

  • Clear communicator, able to explain technical detail to non‑technical audiences.

  • Experience coaching technical/support teams and creating documentation.

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering/technical discipline.

  • Relevant industry or manufacturer certifications (e.g. solar PV, battery storage, electrical installations) desirable.
