Technical Manager – Max Energy
The Technical Manager is the senior escalation point for complex technical queries from customers, ensuring issues are resolved quickly while improving processes, standards and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle escalated technical queries from the first-line support team and provide timely resolutions.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with Max Energy products, systems and installations.
Coach and support the support team to reduce future escalations and build technical capability.
Maintain and improve technical standards, processes and internal documentation.
Work with Operations, Projects and Installation teams to resolve field issues and tackle root causes.
Feed recurring issues back to Product/Engineering or external partners to drive improvements.
Support pre‑sales and post‑sales with technical input when required.
Monitor key technical KPIs and lead continuous improvement activity.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and health & safety.
Skills and Experience:
Strong background in a technical role within energy/renewables/engineering.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience handling escalated issues.
Clear communicator, able to explain technical detail to non‑technical audiences.
Experience coaching technical/support teams and creating documentation.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
Qualifications:
Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering/technical discipline.
Relevant industry or manufacturer certifications (e.g. solar PV, battery storage, electrical installations) desirable.
